If Rudy Giuliani were to win the presidential election, it would destroy both the democrat and the republican parties as we know them.
Heres how, Rudy is a fiscal conservative and strong on national defense but he does not hold the same views as the religious conservatives in the republican party. This would reform the party once republicans realize that they can win without sucking up to the religious right. The republican party would become a union of independents libertarians other fiscal conservatives, strong on defense democrats and anyone against large entitlement programs like socialized medicine.
On the Democrat side, Hillary will most likely be the nominee and if she were to loose to Rudy, it would cause a split in the Democrat party. First of all many democrats would lose faith in the party, if they can’t win an election with all they have going for them with the hate Bush media and the general anti-war sentiment. The left would split from the more centrists among the party, behind the likes of Edwards, Kucinich and Gore those who want big government and social entitlement programs , and the centrists behind the more right of the party spectrum like Clinton and Lieberman.
